>Fancy technology

>Technology is amazing.  Now we can see our little munchkin before he or she is born, each chamber of the heart, each bone in the tiny arms, each finger and toe wiggling around.  We have three-dimensional pictures, a DVD of the whole ultrasound, and we can share the photos with all of you in a matter of minutes hours days (when I finally sat down to my computer and solved all of the glitches that aforementioned amazing technology also included).

Yet the technology is really nothing compared to the little miracle I’m growing right now.  I know the techs and doctors see these things all the time, especially at a place called Eastside Maternal/Fetal medicine, so they could be casual about it, but we could not.

At the first glance of this profile, we both gasped.

It doesn’t matter that this is our second time experiencing this.  It is a thrill every time.  And we smiled just as much when each person looking at the screen proclaimed that this little one has long fingers (just like the three of us!).

At the end, we got to have the comparison between the 2D version and the 3D.  We like this pair, showing how this munchkin is already proclaiming what a hard job it is to be a baby.

The most common question asked throughout the second half of pregnancy seems to be, “What are you having?”  And the answer is… (scroll down)…

A baby!

As to whether the baby is a boy or a girl, we’ll find out in July and let you know.  : )

    >Oh, you totally had me on the whole "scroll down" thing! I thought you found out! Guess I'll keep my girl clothes just in case! The ultrasound photos are precious … even though I've seen my fair share (and then some) of ultrasound images, I still marvel at them! BR 2.0 looks fantastic! Woo Hoo!

    >Did you notice that, in the third photo the baby looks like she/he has hair—a "comb-over" to be precise! I'm going to use the nickname "Elvis" until you can prove me wrong. Perhaps with a subsequent ultrasound?!? hee, hee!

    >This guy thinks he's Alfred Hitchcock. Nice profile pose! So Aunt Lori can stick with Elvis, but I'm going with Alfred.

    >I thought in the third photo that HE was either recovering from a hangover ('oh my aching head!'), OR flipping everyone off '(I'm not coming out 'til I'm damned good and ready!')

    >Ah hem – excuse me, but I immediately thought SHE has so much hair that she decided to wear a side part to keep it out of her face given the tiny space she calls home right now. And, might I add, did you happen to notice the bicep muscle and strong looking humerous bone she already has in those last two pictures? She is going to wallop anyone who calls her a boy! Keep drinking that milk, Jessica – this little girl is growing beautiful and strong!I love you!Aunt JulieAmelia is a good strong name. Then again so is Julia 😉
