What I’m doing instead of blogging

>Seems like my next post after such a long hiatus should be amazing, but the chances are pretty high that it’s going to be ordinary.  My time is too limited and my days too mundane to write anything particularly stunning.

But it’s hard to sit down and write something less than stellar.  So until I can work my way up to a blockbuster post, here is a list of what I’m doing instead of writing:

-doing laundry and starting to pack for our ten-day trip to Michigan
-throwing away platefuls of food that picky eaters refuse to touch
-using the fabulous new handheld vacuum my friend got me for Christmas, despite whining from the toddler about the loud noise
-trying (in vain) to get caught up on emails
-feeding a baby who is in the middle of a growth spurt (I hope!)

and…the award for most time spent this past week probably goes to:

-handing out macadamia nuts in exchange for peeing on the toilet.  Chances are good that you could have some, too, if you came over to use our toilet…as long as Sebastian doesn’t catch you with your hand in the jar.  I know I would welcome the company of someone who uses the bathroom on his or her own. (I would also welcome the chance to use it by myself for a change, but that seems like too much to hope for, doesn’t it?)

A more clever post coming soon – once I am settled in Michigan with relatives to entertain the small fry!
