Shooka

“What are we having for dinner?”  Theo asked.

“What’s on the menu?” Sebastian chimed in.

“Stir fry, but I don’t feel like making it.  What do YOU want for dinner?”

“Shooka!” Theo replied without missing a beat.  (It rhymes with book-uh, in case you’re wondering.)

“Hmm… I don’t know how to make that.  Do you know how?”

“Yep.  First you put in the sugar.  Then you pour in the salt.  You heat it up and then you EAT it!  SHOOKA!!”

As the two of them proceeded to dance around the room chanting, “Shooka!  Shooka!  Shooka!” I made a mental note to involve them more in the cooking  process again.

After all, he clearly forgot the third thing that I often announce makes a recipe delicious:  butter.
